The Abstract Human Radio
The Abstract Human Radio (Abhura) is a frequencies project based in Brisbane, Australia that explores immersion and interactivity in the arts through technology, with focuses on surround sound, projection, motion tracking and experimentalist music practices. Influenced by the postmodern traditions of John Cage, La Monte Young and Pauline Oliveros, the Radio aims to create environments and experiences that offer refuge from the strains of late stage capitalism production-consumption cycles and give audiences the space and time to reconnect with their human condition. From the Radio, one can expect any combinations of audiovisual performance, interactive installation, projection art or ambient vinyl disc jockeying, depending on the environment.
