Inclusitivity Guidelines

Yonder has been built on the core values of community, inclusivity and acceptance. These values are very important to the festival team and have been considered across all areas of the event. We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming space where all walks of life can happily connect through music and art. We believe it is the shared responsibility of organisers, volunteers, artists, contractors and patrons to help create a fun and inclusive festival.

So, here are some things to know about Yonder:

– Yonder has a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards incidents of intimidation, violence and physical or verbal harassment, related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, age or religion.

– If you need to report an incident, utilise festival services or security, or are just in need of a quiet space, Yonder has a direct hotline which you can call or text at any time through the event. We ask that you use these resources thoughtfully and respectfully.

– Yonder supports cultural change within the music industry by promoting an ethic of care among patrons, encouraging conversations around safety and expected behavior and providing gender-equality and diversity within the festival program.

– We appreciate that individual experiences of music festivals can be highly gendered and identity-specific, and we want to do everything in our ability to provide only positive encounters! To facilitate this, we are providing a team of security guards who are at least 50% female and have undertaken appropriate training prior to the festival.

– Small but inclusive steps will be implemented to improve the festival experience of diverse groups, such as gender neutral bathrooms and accessible amenities. We encourage people with disability or access needs to get in touch with our team prior to the festival so that we can assist with your personal experience.

– Yonder recognises that we would not be able to enjoy this wealth of musical and artistic delights without the creations of diverse communities and cultures. Along with our engagement with First Nations artists, we aim to provide a platform for multicultural artists and encourage people from all backgrounds to come together to share the Yonder experience.
