DONNY LOVE
Formed in Berlin and realised in Burleigh (Queensland, Australia), their musical output to date includes the ‘Sultry Visions’ EP, multiple singles and the 2018 debut album ‘Sensation’ which they subsequently toured through Japan and Australia. In 2019 they performed extensively and recorded their second LP ‘Meeting of the Dons’ which is set to be released to the new world soon on Holiday Maker Records. The band created controversy when they staged a Mayoral campaign in the 2020 Gold Coast election with their single and campaign theme track ‘Run For Mayor’.
The band has recently announced their signing with Holiday Maker Records with two recent singles ‘Boredom Pills’ and ‘The Lights’ which introduced a new, ambitious production and songwriting style reminiscent of the surrealist pop of Ariel Pink, and with the wide eyed charm of The Modern Lovers and Devendra Banhart. To deliver on their vision for the album the band enlisted George Carpenter (engineer/co-producer) and Sydney’s Jack Prest (mix/master) whose credits include Bruce Springsteen, the Preatures, Tampa The Great, Kool Keith and Flume.
