Named after the opiate in Huxley’s ‘Brave New World’ agrammeofsoma is the recording alias of ambient guitarist Michael Gagen, known for his work with Australian post rock groups hazards of swimming naked and Echotide. Described as ‘sound blankets for study, commute, contemplation or sleep’, agrammeofsoma’s output of minimalistic, looping music, weaves constantly evolving blankets of gentle sound. Rare live shows underscore an instrumental, often completely improvised sound, shifting dreamily between solitary guitar soundscapes and all-encompassing, metallic textures. The agrammeofsoma project’s catalogue consist of nine studio albums, two EP’s and four short films, the most recent studio release is 2021’s “Errata”.
