Cosmo Ritmo or ‘Cosmic Rhythmic Excursions’ is a concept dreamt up and led by Jono Ma (Jagwar Ma, The Dreemas), nurtured and supported by Byron locals Oli Wright and Benjamas. Barely one year old, Cosmo has spent it’s developmental year changing the very fabric of Byron Bay’s music scene hosting events every Friday night at the infamous Locura bar and holding down the danceloor across all nights as the 3 main Locura resident DJs. Cosmo has seen Floating Points, Multi Cult, Moxie, CC:Disco, Wax O Paradiso, Fantastic Man and Tornado Wallace all join the lineup at their parties. Cosmo Ritmo as a DJ collective throws down everything from spiritual jazz through early acid house and into undefinable cosmic dance music, eclecticism, elation and versatility being key to their cult following in the Byron Shire. As a label Cosmo has had it’s debut release with ‘Steppers’ by Mystics, a collaboration between Jono Ma and Jonti of Stones throw records.
