George Hickman is a Meanjin/Brisbane-based musician, composer, producer, and co-founder of independent label Earthed. Maintaining a diverse range of creative projects, his musical offerings span new age, environmental music, ambient, and electronic dance-music.

Taking inspiration and guidance from immersive art projects such as Mark Pritchard, Albrecht La’Brooy and Oneohtrix Point Never, George has contributed many of his latest works in non- traditional formats: his quadraphonic album ‘Enceladus’, and his multimedia collaborations with Adrienne Kenefake, Madeline Holt and Jasper Free respectively.

As per his latest release on Pocketmoth, ‘Against Better Judgement’, his ability to translate the subtleties of ambient sound- scaping into club-orientated dance music demonstrates his technical proficiency, artistic sensibility, and ear for sound design. This new creative direction highlights George’s constant artistic development, and suggests an exciting new creative direction for production and live performance.
