Girl and Girl

Girl and Girl have been making a huge impact over the last couple of years, headlining Brisbane’s Mountain Goat Valley Crawl, selling out their own headline show at Felons Barrel Hall and supporting artists including Tiny Little Houses, Rat!Hammock, The Lazy Eyes, These New South Whales, Death by Denim, The Moving Stills, Surprise Chef and Floodlights. Not to mention, performing at Brisbane’s Hot Dreams Festival alongside Lucy Dacus, Cate Le Bon, Glass Beams, Andy Shauf and more, taking the stage at Sofar Sounds and being announced on the coveted Bigsound lineup for 2022.

Comprising of Kai James, his Aunty Liss on drums, longtime friend Jayden Williams on guitar and bassist Fraser Bell, Girl and Girl have a special kinship that shines through in their music and on stage. The band also share extensive experience in the music scene both together and separately, with Aunty Liss bringing 37 years of drumming chops to the table. Not to mention the time that Girl and Girl competed against none other than Tones and I at a local band competition, and won (no
biggie!).

Named as one of the TheMusic.com.au’s ‘Top 25 Rising Acts of 2021’ Girl and Girl have kicked off 2022 with an unstoppable up-and-coming energy, with the release of single ‘Garden Song’ landing a first play on Australian youth broadcaster triple j Unearthed TOPS program, as well as being added to metro community radio 4ZZZ and 2Ser rotation. ‘Garden Song’ also saw support from Tone Deaf, Australian Music Scene, LivewireAU, Blank Street Press, MILKY Magazine and more.
