Golden Age of Ballooning

Emerging on the Brisbane scene in 2014 as an excuse to play Neil Young covers, Golden Age of Ballooning quickly became known on the Brisbane scene for their heartfelt songs and crowded stages. Since then the band has released a dozen singles and three EP’s of their guitar wielding mix of psychedelic, indie and classic rock.

They began to win fans across the country when singles ‘Love & War’ and ‘So They Say’ both garnered strong support from local and national radio – including glowing reviews and regular airplay from Triple J and rotation spots on Double J. They grew their new fan base through touring across the country including shows with Alex Lahey, British India and Wolfmother.

2021 see the band releasing a selection of singles from their forthcoming debut album, their latest WIlderness Soul is a hard rock impressionistic retelling of the fall out between Van Gogh and fellow artist friend Paul Gauguin. Set to a canvas of pummeling drums, sea sick keyboards and 90’s grunge guitars, Wilderness Soul screams into the darkness between friends, lovers and depression.
