LOULOU

loulou consists of Meanjin based humans Louis, Caitlin and Talia. Grounded in garage, the trio’s offbeat brand of new wave music aims to start conversations about life and sadness, exploring the quirks of being human as a form of rock and roll catharsis. Driven by upbeat guitar and bass, loulou’s music is guitar-pop at heart; tinged with post-punk and garage influences which are brought to life by washed out vocals and contemplative lyrics.

Having made their compelling lo-fi sound known with singles ‘Photosynthesis’ and ‘Gotta Get Better’ – loulou released their debut EP ‘It Spills Out’ in July this year.

“Genuine and genuinely brilliant from start to finish.” – Dave McCarthy (Laundry Echo)

“Brisbane’s loulou present a collection of tracks that manage to be endearing, thought-provoking, and wholly catchy all at the same time. A quintessential Australian-rock record with charm to spare” – Calen Le Couteur (Music is My Muse)

“What a charmer, real nice layers in this. Thanks loulou!” – Steph Hughes (Triple J)
