MATT DABROWSKI

Brisbane-based Artist, Matt Dabrowski is best known for producing large-scale collaborative projects and site-specific installations in the 90’s and 00’s under the name ‘Matt Dabrowski and the Many Hands of Glamour’.

Dabrowski’s activities explore cross-disciplinary art-forms that advance intuitive, interstitial and open-ended hypotheses. Favouring satire, humour and irony, the predominant motivation behind Dabrowski’s practice subverts popular beliefs that dispossess us from meaningful experience, fellowship and social connectedness. The spectacular absurdity of consumer fetishism and cosmic existential notions are common themes conveyed with a poetic and surreal aesthetic. With a practice that spans decades of diverse media, for Yonder, Matt engineers the atmospheric existential embrace as part of the troupe of Body Installation performers and sound artists, ‘Theatre of Thunder’.
